Nought Celeritas, also known as 4ZC-1009, is one of two possible bosses of the Splendid Tower and also one of two possible final bosses of Solar Shadow 2.

Appearance[]

Being an android, her appearance is different from the other characters. She has blue hair and a bright white body; she also has pure black eyes.

Story[]

Nought and her brother Death's Head are prototype androids built by Eron Araia Armweak. Despite her strange appearance, she is capable of disguising herself as human. Additionally, her AI operates over Eron's powerful LichenNet system, allowing it to persist if her body is destroyed.

She was stored in a safe room at the top of Technology Tower, until she was stolen by Terrah Horton, who activated her and transferred the Curse of the Castle Masters into her so it didn't need to be carried by a real person, rendering it harmless. Terrah then placed her in the Castle Master's quarters in Splendid Tower as a fake Castle Master, building several statues in her name.

At some point, Nought placed a mind control device in Serenity Horton's eye, and assigned her to guard the entrance of the Ice Prison which is connected to the Magic School. and replaced most of the messages in LichenNet with taunting messages. As it turns out, she's nothing more than a puppet ruler that Terrah Horton intended to use to rule Newerth in her name, and to prevent the Curse of the Castle Masters from laying waste to everything. If the player did everything right, her fight is avoided completely and Ataraxis takes her place instead. Once Selena makes it to the Hidden Attic, she goes and removes Nought from LichenNet, killing off her physical body and forcing the true Castle Master to reveal himself.

In-Game[]

The fight has three main phases. During Phase 1, Nought runs back and forth with four stars orbiting around her with both her and the stars dealing damage. Once she takes enough damage, she'll fall down before getting back up. During Phase 2, she summons more stars from the edges of the screen to target Selena Daria, then throws a spread of stars at her while walking forward. After being defeated again, she gets up for one last shot at victory. During her final phase, Nought hovers around the arena while green fire rains from above. As she loses HP, green fire starts to rise from the bottom of the screen as well. Once she's defeated, the player's ending is determined by prior conditions.

Trivia[]

  • "Celeritas" is Latin for "Speed".
  • The only good ending you can obtain from defeating her is Ending 4 which requires you to defeat Death's Head and then turn back to avoid fighting Demaseor. Aside from that, all other endings where she's the final boss (Ending 5, Ending 8, Ending 9) are bad endings because she's designed to be a trick final boss, which encourages the player to do another playthrough in order to get a better ending.
